This body of work explores the tactile language of found discarded materials—transparent plastics, recycled wood, canvas, and spray paint—assembled into installations that challenge the boundaries of traditional painting. Drawing on influences from Arte Povera and contemporary artwork of Ian Kiaer and Alicja Kwade, the works embrace imperfection, chance, and material honesty.
The body of work is separated into smaller investigations which come together as larger installations:
'Controlled Chance' Spray Paint on paper, allowing the wind and environment to adjust the strokes of colour
'Frame and Canvas' Deconstructing and reconstructing unused art materials to create 3D structures
'Untitled: Clear' A collection of clear waste plastics, manipulated to control their form and movement
Each installation is carefully curated to emphasise delicate marks, subtle textures, and structural contrasts. Everyday materials are cut, folded, stitched, and painted—transformed into site-responsive compositions that invite close inspection. Marks and forms shift between drawing and sculpture, encouraging the viewer to move through the space and discover quiet, intimate moments within the layered chaos.
At its core, this practice is about finding poetic value in the overlooked—using material traces to tell stories of transformation, fragility, and attention.
